2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 3fourths (6958) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - MAY 4, 2013
bottle. recent import by Shelton Brothers. opaque dull amber body with a small white head, some lacing. underfermented raw wort nose of Cracklin’ Oat Bran cereal and dry dog food and creamed wheat and crystal malt, so bad that the enjoyable bright citrus and tropical fruit hops can’t save it. goopy, sludgy, thick and chewy body with a lot of unfermented sugar; add strongly bitter high acid hop and it’s very stew-like and raw tasting. if they could ferment this out and maybe filter it a little, I can see where it could be and it would be beautiful. maybe this batch is a dud though, I can’t imagine Shelton Brother bringing this in if this is the intended smell, flavor and mouthfeel.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DylansDad (165) - NEW ZEALAND - APR 5, 2013
I’m not sure if this would be something to drink all night or not. It’s a bit of a tease in that it definitely has more character than mainstream slosh, but maybe not enough to stop me wishing for something a bit more challenging after the first bottle. The claim that it straddles the Ale/Lager divide is bollocks. It’s a refreshing lager that goes down well after a day’s work, treat it as such and you won’t be disappointed.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (26267) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2012
Bottled. A golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of fruits, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, hops, malt, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish. Nice, but not Bohemian.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mkel07 (2340) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 19, 2012
650ml bottle. Pours a strong sunshine orange colour with an even layer of white fam. Looks pretty good in the glass. Malty aroma is pleasing as is the flavour. This is a good session beer.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Travlr (7989) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 12, 2012
Bottle recommended by Eric at CK, thank you sir! "Try the Stroke beer" he said. Hazy golden yellow color, fluffy white head, solid lacing. Aroma of peppery and dusty lemons and straw. Taste is peppery lemons and cigars. Decent.

Nice hop aroma. Great slightly hazy orange colour with thin white head. Crunchy hop flavour that lingers on the tongue for ages. Amazingly well balanced, another great Stoke beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hawthorne00 (1860) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2012
Bottle. Gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of hay, toast, honey, very rip gooseberries, mixed citrus zest. High bead, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Taste is sweet and fruity with berries and light bread, then ctirus and pepper. Bitter finish with some spices. A fatter Kölsch with Kiwi hops is I guess what they say you’ll get and you do. A little leaner would suit me better, but it’s pretty gluggable.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dredd (638) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JUN 29, 2012
Aroma is a let down, metallic with some breadiness. Colour is cloudy brown-amber. Flavour is citrusy, almost a light lime citrus coming through mid palate with a nice bitter finish. Close, but not quite
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 gav12c (116) - Wollongong, AUSTRALIA - JUN 25, 2012
pours golden with a strong grassy lemon flavour that overpowers any flavour that could have been, finish’s with an unpleasent metallic flavour that put’s this in the not so great lager category.
