COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We hope you enjoy this Stoke Amber. We make it the old fashioned way and never cut corners. It’s brewed using Nelson’s famous organic hops, premium malt, our own bespoke yeast an 14,000 year old Paleo Water (no artificial additives or colouring). Stoke is tank conditioned over three weeks - that’s where the hint of honey and smooth mouth feel come from. Next time you’re in Nelson, come and meet the team here at our family brewery!

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber orange with foamy thick off white head and decent lacing. Very sickly sweet caramel and burnt toffee malt aroma - biscuit, honey bread and grain with a light tropical, grassy hop character in the faint background. Light medium body, chewy caramel, light stonefruit hop presence and medium bitterness. Well balanced flavour and some fruity yeast esters - reminiscent of an old ale minus the dark malts. Satisfying.

Really surprising beer from the Kiwi’s - rich , full bodied and with a lovely aroma in line with an Aussie pale Ale - I will now have to try their other beers in the range :-)

Bottle- Puors a clear dark amber color with a good tan head that fades to nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some sweetness and dark fruit with a bit of spice. Taste of Roasted malt with some chocolate mixed in with dark fruit and bit of spice. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, smooth and quite creamy, with a nice balance. Enjoyable beer. good for a couple. worth a try.

Not a fan, it lacked sufficient flavour and body. It is a weak amber ale that leaves a lot to be desired.

From a 330ml bottle. Amber body with small cream-white head. Nose is sweet caramel malts and mild floral hops. Quite sweet on the tongue with a smooth easy drinking mouthfeel and low carbonation. Mild bitter hop finish. Light-medium body. A little too sweet for my taste but still good.

pours a hazy golden amber, with a thin white head that leaves some subtle lacing. aroma is all malt with caramel and biscuit shining through. flavour magnifies the aroma, with more caramel and biscuit with a slight roasted flavour finishing with pleasantly subtle bitterness. quite a good amber ale for the price.

Bright and radiant fiery copper body with a good sized, resilient, pillowy crown atop that leaves a mess of foam upon the glass. Definitely well fuelled by the abundant surge of minute bubbles below. Raw, resinous hops, roasted nuts, burnt toast, weeds and dried mown lawn, Anzac biscuits and pale timber on the nose, pleasant and surprisingly complex. Piney, nutty, herbaceous, floral; a big mix of flavour upon the palate. The hops aren’t shy, adding a fetching amount to its profile. Quite raw, rough, woody are the hops with the malt adding just a little biscuity, treacle-like sweetness to it and subtle toasty notes. Not much fruit esters come out but it is refreshingly styled. The body light and the carbonation low to allow it to settle in well on the palate. It’s honestly an easy drinker. Very sessionable. Keeps good, even as it warms. Quite nice.
