We hope you enjoy this Stoke Amber. We make it the old fashioned way and never cut corners. It’s brewed using Nelson’s famous organic hops, premium malt, our own bespoke yeast an 14,000 year old Paleo Water (no artificial additives or colouring). Stoke is tank conditioned over three weeks - that’s where the hint of honey and smooth mouth feel come from. Next time you’re in Nelson, come and meet the team here at our family brewery!

330ml bottle. I had a sample of this when it first came out and was suprised how good it was (and the dark as well). My summer holiday beer and now one of the best ’regular’ beers in the supermarket although not readily available. Attractive amber hue, slowly diminishing medium sized creamy beige head, good lacing. Very nice aromas; malty caramel base, toffee, fruity especially marmalade, smokey, rocky shore/kelp, fresh leather, manuka wood shavings. Well balanced flavour profile; medium to medium strong bitterness, medium sweetness with a long duration. Medium body, creamy oily texture, soft carbonation, long velvety smooth finish. Pretty good I’d say.

From bottle in shaker. Pours amber (no surprise) with aroma of toffee/caramel that carries through to the taste. Finish is smokey and spicy, unique amongst the ambers I’ve tried.

Pours a dark amber colour with a micro-head and very little lacing. The major flavour is toasted malt with dark fruit and maybe some pine resin in the aftertaste. No, but really what is Paleo water other than a catch phrase?

330ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and light fruits with some fresh hops. Taste is a fresh floral and citrus hop bitterness with a light fruity and malty sweetness. Light bodied with good carbonation that leaves a pleasant sensation on the palate. A well crafted amber ale that is both tasty and well balanced.

(Bottle) Clear dark amber / medium brown with very slight white head. Subtle sweetish biscuity malt aroma. Fairly light body with pleasant soft carbonation. Malt and hops on the foretaste with the malt ebbing away for some lasting gentle bitterness. Notes of tea and maybe toffee. Pleasant beer.
