3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I didnít really like this one at all. Quite light and watery for a dark beer. Had little to no depth of flavor, simply tasted like sweet toasted malt with zero hop character.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
BB 26.3.2014. Poured an opaque black colour with a very slight mahogany tint at the edges and developed a thin light tan bubbly head that quickly diminished to a bubble line. laced poorly. Aroma of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Taste dominated by roasted grain. Light body - a bit lighter than I was expecting. Smooth with a long roasted grain finish.

Looks ok and has a bit of a nose to it. Reasonable roast but just far too watery.

Bottled 33 cl from Dan Murphyís Geelong, on August 2, 2013.
Clear dark red to black color, light brown head. Sweet, fruity, tobacco scent. Malty, sweet, grainy taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high dry bitterness. Grainy aftertaste. Some chocolate scent too.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle. Pours opaque black but with chestnut tinge. There is a thin crema head some of which hangs around. The nose has millionaire shortbread but also raisins, so itís fruit and nut bar, really. The taste has dark chocolate and liquorice. The palate is medium bodied with a drying finish. Overall, amazing nose but lacks it in the other department.

better than the amber, roasty and coffeeish with a bunch of molasses too, rather weak and watery but itís nice enough.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The McCashin Family obviously wanted to pound porter when they brewed this thin dark. Pours flat with equally flat aroma. Of thin consistency, itís dark but only semiopaque and has a minimal tan head that stays in the bottle.
The taste is sweet with dark chocolate with medium to high carbonation. Not too hoppy, itís very easy to put down. I could see this as the light alternative for Porter and Stout enthusiasts. Itís lively, thin, light to medium bodied--if only for its dark consistency-- and abrupt, aside from the carbonation which does linger.
Not bad, not great.
