COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We hope you enjoy this Stoke IPA. We make it the old fashioned way and never cut corners. It’s brewed using a combination of premium Nelson hops including Pacific Gem, Cascade, Motueka and Styrian Golding, bespoke yeast, 14,000 year old Paleso™ water and lightly toasted malt (no artificial additives or colouring). Stoke IPA is tank conditioned over 4 weeks to ensure a smooth caramel sweetness and hangover-free experience.

Light golden body not Much head some lacing. Grainy aroma a touch of bubblegum. Taste is plastic, slight bitter finish, sweet grains. Odd IPA. Not spectacular

Bottle. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of orchard fruit (from English yeast). light caramel malt, and a hint of melon. Flavors are of flat pale malt, apple skin, leaves, and mild vague citrus. Medium bodied with a decent bitterness. Too much of the orchard fruit thing for me, but not completely without charm.

Pretty weak for an IPA that has so many pure ingredients. Syrupy caramel malt flavour with some mild hopping. Very little citrus or hop flavours in comparison.

Bottle. Cloudy golden amber pour with very little head. Aroma is lightly hoppy with some soft fruit, maybe pear, a little grassy. Flavour is very light but decently balanced, a little grassy and herbal with some fruit underneath. Very boring and light for an IPA, but pretty decent outside of style.

A nice ipa. New to the Manitoba market. Sampled at flatlanders beer festival. Nice dry ipa fueled by pine and earthy hops. Quite nice.

Orange body with a small white head. Malty aroma. Floral notes, earthy hops, bready malts. Light to medium body. Grassy, herbal, floral notes. Over abundance of malt. Mediocre.

330ml green bottle. 4.8% alc on the label. Golden colour, trace of haze. Standard white cap on top. Light aroma - citrusy. Taste has some mild fruity notes, grapefruit, grass. Nice finish with grapefruit lingering. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Nice, but light.

330ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine with some spice and light toasted grains. Taste is a light fruity and caramel malty sweetness with a light citrus and pine hop bitterness. Light bodied with good carbonation that tickles the palate. Overall, a well crafted session IPA that is sure to please most IPA lovers, especially those interested in trying the style for the first time.

Pleasant, but not more than that. The aroma was non existent, perhaps more malt than hops. The taste was great, a bit of caramel and long bitterness. Surprised to see a who’s who of hops on the label, as I found this very low in the hop stakes.

I take reviewing beer rather seriously. I like to savour beers that are fine examples of their style, search for exotic beers on shop shelves and physically go to breweries to find new beers to review. For this particular beer, I made sure that I didn’t just assess the one. It came in a six pack and a few of those got a bloody good seeing to. First of all, it appeared orange in the glass with a temporary white head that left good lace down the glass. Aromas of dry caramel, orange peel, gooseberry and grapefruit translate easily into the flavour with a nice bite of bitterness. It was easy, approachable and sessionable. I looked at some of the other reviews that I felt were a little too critical and to an extent, they’re fair enough. However, this is one of those beers that will warm the nervous first timer to the style and provide those who take their beers seriously something to look for in the fridge of their local as it becomes more widely spread. I would buy this beer again, quite happily.
