1 pint can from my local convenience store... Pours a "chill hazed" strong golden with a small white head that leaves pretty good lacing. Nose is of fruits (melon for the most part) and caramel with a slight "fake" character to it that I cannot explain (vaguely chemical, I guess). It is almost grossly sweet to the nose in fact, too. Taste is a bit sweet and moderately bitter, offers some melon and other fruits over a honeyed base. Body is moderate and carbonation medium. Mouthfeel is a little sticky. Overall I thought it wasn’t bad the first time I had it (around 2007-2008 I would guess) but now defects and the overall lack of quality seem pretty evident.

Pours a turbid copper with lots of fine carbs topped by a creamy eggshell head offering nice lacing. The nose is dominated by the honey and some caramelized malts but you’ll also get strong herbal hops. The attack is sweet with the honey being paired with the malt but everything is set on a strong (grassy) hoppy backbone. It delivers an enjoyable bitterness and drops dry at the finish leaving no aftertaste. Good brew overall, for an Irish honey pale ale.

473 ml can from Broue Ha Ha, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear orange-amber with a decent orange-light tan head. Aroma: Dusty citrus, grapefruit, honey, caramel, sort of a not great APA. Palate: Medium body, fairly full carbonation. Flav.: Similar to the nose, quite dusty, citrusy, caramel-y, again, like a mediocre APA; dry with astringency and decent bitterness, and a citrus and caramel finish.

I was expecting worse. Much worse.

Can 473ml. Pours golden with medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of grain, honey, flowers. Taste is of grain, alcohol, bitterness, sugar, malt. Palate: Light-medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Refreshing. Not really complex, but certainly decent. A bit too sweet.

Just above the drinkable mark. Pours cloudy amber with a little foamy head that disappears quick. Freezes prerty clear with a dirty tint on the bus stop. Sone light hops and citrus. Sone sour malt. Tall can from Bieres du monde.

4 pack of cans purchased in Ville Marie Clear caramel colored pour, with a small white head. Aroma is big on cheap smelling caramalt, butter, and wet grass. The mouth feel is good, and the carb is a tad soft. The finish is all wet grass, and wet paper, with some minerals, and more cheap caramalts. It leaves a nasty earthy, wet grass flavor. Didn’t finish my can.

473 ml can from Drummondville Loblaws. Pours a clear bright golden orange with average white head and steady stream of bubbles. Aroma is honeyed grains and grass. Flavour is biscuit, a bit of grassy sharpness and a little honeyish sweetness. Average body. Carbonation on the lively side. Serviceable.
