I’m crushing this on McCoys back porch while I rate. This is everything it should be. Light, flavorful, and effervescent, however you spell that word. Goes down easy. Possibly the perfect shandy.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KapitiCritique (312) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - AUG 9, 2011
yeasty, hazy, light yellow, good lacing and medium head, ginger and yeast nose, sweet. Summer sipper - or as they say in South Africa, a proper ladies sundowner.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (4531) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 17, 2011
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet spices and fruit. Light body with a ginger ale flavor and notes of citrus and brine. The finish is fruity with a lingering ginger aftertaste. Overall pretty much exactly as it is billed, although this is not something I would revisit outside of the novelty of it.

This was a stone cold groove! .. on tap @ McCoys - KC .. . Pours a hazy tan, medium foam .. . light ginger, citrus and summer .. . super refreshing and a great summer session brew! .. . We understand some drains in your area have been
malfunctioning, sucking in people and...whatnot. ..
--Willikers! That’s awful.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 adnielsen (3108) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 19, 2011
On tap @ McCoys Westport KC. Hazy light yellow appearance. Lots of lemonade and lots of ginger in the light bodied nose. Fairly sour flavor that’s mostly just lemonade plus ginger. Drinkable but not much like a beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 fiver29 (1014) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - NOV 13, 2010
Sample at the brewpub. Pours cloudy lemonade or ginger like color with white head. Aroma is spritzy ginger. Spritzy mouthfeel. Flavor was light, ginger, refreshing, and was all around a tasty beer. I’m not a huge fan of the this style or beer. This was frickin delicious.
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 unclemattie (3244) - Georgia, USA - SEP 19, 2009
Tap @ McCoy’s Public House. Cloudy, bright yellow. Looks like a ground ginger and lemonade. Great aroma of ginger ale and Chick-fil-A lemonade. Awesome. So f’n refreshing. Combination of pure cane sugar ginger ale. No bite and home squeezed lemonade. A perfect blend. I’d let my kid drink this stuff. Yummy.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 theisti (2371) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - JUL 31, 2009
Shaker pint pour at the brewpub in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is cloudy orange copper with a small white head. Aroma of lemons, ginger, amd big sugar sweetness - like a packet of sugar was dropped in. Bright and fresh. Taste is ginger, syrupy sweet and some soda water. Palate is super spritzy more of the tangy ginger and citrus. Weird but more or less refreshing on a beautiful day on the McCoys porch.
