Silky smooth, indeed! Very dark, creamy, malty flavor that is delightful to consume. Heavy lacing on glass, deep dark brown/black color.

Slightly below average. Hints of chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. Decent charcoal color with a nice thin and foamy head. The palate was too light but had a smooth character. Flavors were oatmeal, roasted grains and bitter cocoa. Not a great beer but better than most of the others I’ve had from this brewery.

Deep, chalky brown color. Frothy head that’s everlasting. Aroma is dark, bitter chocolate. Flavir is roasty malt and finish is a pretty strong dark chocolate. Milky texture. Leaves a complete, light tan blanket of lace on the glass. I can’t find the oatmeal... just tastes like a milk stout.

2.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Tap at the KC location brewpub. Looks like a nitro pour. Taste is Guinness clone with tart lemon, ultra light and clean body for SRM, some tootsie roll and chocolate milk flavor. Good lacing. Nose however is sharp mildew. Tasted okay. Aroma becomes almost gamey oyster with hefty sea water and mold. Perhaps displaying the very rare brewing flaw of mold growing in the tanks/pipes/equipment. Very fun brewpub to identify a myriad of brewing flaws: DMS, mildew, cidery, diacetyl, soap, astringency. Quite the excellent study guide for my BJCP exam.

On tap at McCoys. Pours a black color with creamy off white head. Oatmeal, roasted, coffee flavors. Somewhat lighter body for an oatmeal stout, but very drinkable.

It poured a black color with a light tan head. The aroma was of chocolate and some malty caramel. The taste was very lightly roasted with hints of dark chocolate and some light coffee. A decent Oatmeal Stout.
