Tap at the KC location brewpub. Looks like a nitro pour. Taste is Guinness clone with tart lemon, ultra light and clean body for SRM, some tootsie roll and chocolate milk flavor. Good lacing. Nose however is sharp mildew. Tasted okay. Aroma becomes almost gamey oyster with hefty sea water and mold. Perhaps displaying the very rare brewing flaw of mold growing in the tanks/pipes/equipment. Very fun brewpub to identify a myriad of brewing flaws: DMS, mildew, cidery, diacetyl, soap, astringency. Quite the excellent study guide for my BJCP exam.

February 27, 2013 - tap at Foundry. Dark brown pour with nice head that lasted and lacing. Roasted malt and sprinkle of chocolate in aroma and taste. Very smooth, but very thin and dry finish.

On tap at McCoys. Pours a black color with creamy off white head. Oatmeal, roasted, coffee flavors. Somewhat lighter body for an oatmeal stout, but very drinkable.

A nice dark beer if you like dark beer. It’s the best dark beer made in the Kansas city area

It poured a black color with a light tan head. The aroma was of chocolate and some malty caramel. The taste was very lightly roasted with hints of dark chocolate and some light coffee. A decent Oatmeal Stout.

Draft at the source. Dark clear brown color, thick beige head with good retention, solid lacing. Aroma of oats and cocoa. Taste is smooth milk chocolate.

Sample at the brewpub. Comes a dark brown with an average tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate. Taste is similar. Rich and creamy. Nice.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a dark brown color with a medium thin and foamy beige head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate malt. Medium body with flavors of toasted malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty and smooth with a chocolate aftertaste. Decent overall.
