3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint in the Fife Arms,Dufftown, Scotland
Light brown colour, small off white head. Plenty laceing
Very malty aroma though not quite as sweet as others.
Has a quite distinctive malty and nutty taste ..the nuttiness raises this above the average 70 shilling type ales.
Nice palate, refreshing and well carbonated.
I found this very drinkable..good session brew.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
1/2 pint draught, The Blue Blazer, Edinburgh. Reddish brown colour with a fine-laced off-white head. Slightly nutty and crisp aroma. Served too cold. Lightly bitter when it enters the mouth. Drying bitter sensation. Typical lager-like crispness. Prickly sensation from carbonation. Finishes dry with a light roasted maltiness.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Draught. This is a thin and tinny bitter that does not really have a whole lot going for it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear orange color, short creamy lasting head. More caramel and toffee than 80 Shilling, note of hazelnut. Not really bitter, lingering palate. Quite nice. (yep, i drank this one with caesar)

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Keg (cask may be better): Had this after the 80 and seemed to waive a little in terms of flavor. To its credit there’s a little peated smokiness, while it’s definitely tuned to session drinking.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Keg tap at the Hole in the Wall, Dumfries. Tawny brown with a sizeable creamy head. Smells of very little: a bit of plummy/appley sweetness with some malt. Taste is pleasant enough - a fruitcake malt unless dominates - but again shockingly slight. Not a lot to this beverage at all really.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap in Glasgow, named "Tartan Special". Great hop balance. Aromas of caramel, grass, and coke. Taste is sweet and bitter. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Keg at The Shed, 7 Lady St, Annan DG12 5DA back in 24 March 2012 - Russet red body, thick white head. Nose is faint malts and caramel, taste is a metallic cheap canned bitter note. Thin mouthfeel. Another uninspiring one.

Ultra smooth nitro bitter. Flavours aren’t strong but was is there is malty with a vague sweetness.
