Can. Clear copper color with a frothy head. Aroma of wet grass, malt and grain. Medium bitter malty taste. Tastes a lot like a macro lager. Harsh on palate. Medium low carbonation.

Bottles from Morrisons, Chester-le-Street, Wylam Wine Store, Ninepins Pub - Low Fell. This is a copper coloured beer with malty and sweet red fruity flavours, caramel and toffee notes with a sweet sugary finish. Previously brewed by McEwan’s, Edinburgh.

It seens unbalenced at the beggining, but the bitterness at the end gives a nice impression.

The poor presentation probably tells me what to expect. And it tells me well!

ALLOVATE (2101) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - APR 19, 2013
Burnished copper in the pint with a few adhesive, soda-like bubbles and a lapsing, sudsy off-white head. Caramel and burnt sugar, roasted peanuts, Marmite, sweaty sock and kelp on the nose. Rather flaccid, soapy in feel and watery yet instantly heavy in the stomach. Burnt sugar, burnt toast, peanut skins, overbrewed tea giving a light astringency. Such a light floral note it might well not be there at all. Don’t feel like finishing this one. As bad now as it was 7 years ago. (50cL bottle, BB 12/06/13, Liquor Baron’s Ocean Reef)

Draught, swan-neck @ the Station, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, Aug’ 2006.
Bright copper, no carbonation and a tight pad of beige atop that was lasting. Aroma of caramel, roasted nuts, wood, butter. Sickly, filmy mouthfeel with dominant burnt toast and peanut skin flavour before a woody finish that dies off quickly. Caramel here as well; hops non-existent. Pass me a decent bitter, I’m done with this one!!

Bottle at the John=Jim Den Haag tasting, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark chestnut brown colour with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is big malt leading to a medium bitter, malty taste. The aftertaste isn’t good.

Can shared by Vaiz @ Jim is John tasting. Clear rusty orange color, small good lacing white head. Aroma is bad: malts and lots of butter. Taste malts and buttery. Slightly bitter but no, I really don’t like it.
