355ml bottle. pours a very dark brown with a nice, thick beige head. aroma is domainated by sweet malts and alcohol. taste is sweet, with notes of toffee and caramel, some chocolate in there too. body is heavy, and mildly carbonated. a nice feel on the palate. nto a great scotch ale, but not at all a bad one either.

Bière (liqueur de malt) 8 % d’alcool. Importation d’Écosse. Bon goût de malt, légèrement caramélisé et légèrement sucré. Boisson forte. Beau col au versement.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with typical scotch ale notes of some caramel and toffee. Not enjoyable however. I guess not my style.

Thicker beer than I expected. Warming and dark. Complexity comes through late. Serving: Bottle

This was famous in some western Canadian liquor stores as the highest alcohol beer regularily available, and for cheap! Dark body, little head, lots of barley notes, but I don’t think anyone was paying much attention.

heavy, thick, almost a tobacco smell. Quite thick in the nose. Not much head/lacing, darkish but noticable brown around the edges. Intense scotch barrel flavour, it lasts and is quite scotchy. Thins out, doesn’t leave too much flavour but the scoch effect, % and some woodiness. Wins when you put a thought to it, but it is a bit strongish if you were just having a beer.

Pours very dark brown. Almost black. The head is creamy and beige in colour. Nice aroma, Very malty with notes of fruit and whiskey. Flavour is very nice deep and bold with notes of chocolate, caramel, wood, fruit and alcohol. All in all this is a very nice drinking beer. But I think it would improve greatly with age . It is very compllex and enjoyable, but it has a bit of an abrasive edge to it. And you can really taste the alcohol.
