3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 StumpMe (30) - Bellingham, USA - MAY 23, 2007
Bottle. The appearance of this beer is dark brown and hazy. Light foamy head at pour with medium lacing throughout the glass. Full bodied: coated my mouth with heavy sweetness! Taste and aroma: toffee, caramel, and sweet plum.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - MAY 11, 2007
Rated 1/29/06: I like this beer, why I don’t quite know except that it makes you want to leave it alone yet you keep coming back for more. Pours a wonderful dark brown with ruby red tones. Good head and lacing that stick around for the duration. The overall aroma is a comlex mix of sweet and roasted malts and maybe some coffee and/or chocolate thrown in. Very creamy and smooth to drink with a bit of a bite that encourages you to come back for more. The overall taste is even more complex than the aroma. You taste sweet and bitter all at once. This is an overall joy to drink, but definately not a beer that I could have alot of. Very good complexity that leads to me wanting more, even though I know that I shouldn’t.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 agl108 (594) - Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2007
12 oz. bottle at Zeno’s, Penn State. Poured dark chocolate with only a ring of tan head. Flavor was of malt and little else. Need some hops. Ugh, an effort to get through this one. At least the alcohol is well hidden.

Definitley one of my fav’s. Smokey, peaty taste with sweet overtones of wild berries and chocolat and a little coffee taste. Nice malty bitter finish. Love it!!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 RagallachMC (631) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - APR 25, 2007
12oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet maltiness with notes of caramel, earthy/peaty, light smokiness, dark fruits, and a light cherry coke aroma. Appearance: Dark ruby in color and clear. Medium beige head was full and foamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Bready malt and deep caramel, light smoke and peat, Dark fruits and cherries. Some light chocolate as it warms up. Finishes with some lingering sweetness, but never becomes cloying. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: IMO, this is the ’standard’ Scotch Ale. Everything that you would expect from the style. Haven’t had this in awhile, and I’m glad I came back to it.
