From a 12 fl. oz. bottle. Pours an opaque dark mahogany-brown with a bit of beige head. Aroma of yeast, malts, and caramel. Decent mouth feel. Flavor is both sweet and bitter dark chocolate with a good mix of malts and yeast. Very flavorful actually and always one of my favorites.

Aroma is sugary with notes of dark fruit and alcohol. Pours a dark brown with a nice thick head, which lasts for about 2/3 of the length of time it takes to drink the beer. Tastes sweet, malty, and a little boozy with hints of bread, figs, chocolate, and a bit of coffee--the alcohol is not overwhelming. Hands down one of my favorites, if not my single favorite.

dark brown with nice notes of caramel on the nose. A malty sweetness is heavy on the palate with some light cocoa and espresso on the long finish.

Dark brown beer with a thick head. Smells like chocolate and coffee. Flavor has hints of fruit with plenty of chocolate. Nice thick mouthfeel.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is dark brown with a light foamy white head. With no lacing. The smell is a bit caramel, with a small fruit flavor in the background. The taste is a bit sweet with a roasted malt feel and a nice brown sugar flavor. The feel of this beer is a nice and even. The beer is a strong but not too overwhelming is really drinkable.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2009 Very, very good beer considering the availability. Very tasty, no need to describe what others have already described. Looks great, smells good, tastes great, simple but that’s not a complaint. I
