1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
The Kilburn Gathering. Butterscotch, cardboard, stale vomit - generally stale and unpleasant aroma from a bottle which expired last month. Caramel and butterscotch and stale cardboard. The beer is old, but there’s the distinct suggestion that this wasn’t that good to start with.

Looks good - clear copper colour, pretty good head. Bizarre aroma - starts with sickeningly large amount of both DMS and diacetyl, then settles to brown sugar, candy and the typical Huyghe phenols. Reminds me a bit of Unibroue beers too. Thin bodied with caramel and onions. A bit sour too. Tastes terrible. Has none of the good smoke qualities but does have the plastic medicinal phenols. A real mess.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange-amber colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma of rich malt, toffee and a hint of whiskey. Flavour is well-rounded, with some interesting smoky whiskey notes and a sweet finish. Nice and different. Thanks to NorthYorkSammy.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange amber body, slight white head. Sweet aroma, malty and something else. Palate is nice but on the light side. Flavour is interesting with something odd and interesting coming out, presumably from the scotch. Not a bad beer, cheers to NorthYorkSammy.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Faint hazy amber with smallish pale yellow head. Stale biscuity and molasses caramel malt and faint whiskey alcohol aroma. Cloying low carb body with a touch of alcohol burn body. Medium light hops and sticky sweet malt flavours. Cheap rawish alcoholic finish. Still looking for the smoked character.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nothing flash but drinkable. Amber colour, malty aroma with some whiskey notes, flavour has some smoke characters as well as some toffee, sweet but not sickly. It came in a 250ml stubby which seemed more than enough.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Big creamy off-white head. Smoky aroma and flavor, not the Bamberg one, but in this case a very artificial smokiness. Sweet and metallic with a cheap alcohol flavor. Much worse quality as Adelscott. An insult to the human throat and nose.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Amber, sweet, cloying beer/whisky blend. Light whisky notes, lots of sugar. Uneventful.
