3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beershine (4766) - The Sunshine State, USA - FEB 13, 2009
Pensacola: Peach-golden and hazy. No lace. Bubblegum and banana aromas. Mid-palate also has lots of bubblegum. Orange juice qualities. Good finish, with alcohol dryness cleaning it up. Hot and invigorating for a wheat beer. Nice character, strong and good like a double-hefeweizen. 6-3-7-3-13
Rating weighted by Destin: Hazy orange. Banana, bubble gum, candy aromas. Sweet, almost syrupy but somehow manages to be enjoyable in spite of it. Low carbonation. Much cleaner finish than the Pensacola version. Finishes with fresh grain and much less bubblegum. 4-6-4-7-14

Draught, Destin Cloudy beige. Thin head. Floral, perfumey aroma with fresh apples. Clean, dry, nice apple/pear character with hints of spice. Much more refined than the Pensacola version. 7.4%. 3-7-7-4-15 = 3.6

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. Poured cloudy straw color with off white head. It has a sweet almost honey aroma with some sharp lemon like citrus notes. The flavor is sweet. It’s a bit too sweet with maybe candi sugar and something else. Also some yeast and lemon like citrus was noticeable in the aroma.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 slimchill (981) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 1, 2007
FBG07. Spicy yeast nose with some sweetness, some citrus. Yellow and very cloudy with huge white head. Nice lacing. Sweet candy-like flavor, but well-balance. Tasty.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BrockLanders (759) - Panama City, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2005
Enjoyed this one at the 2005 FL Brewers Guild Beerfest. Pour resembled a nice unfiltered wheat ale...a cloudy orange-yellow. Nose was very fruity, oranges, apples, etc. Taste was not terribly different from the aroma, but did exhibit more spicy sweetness with the hops jumping right on it to the mix. Very tasty.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 matta (1140) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 21, 2005
Sampled 3 times, because I enjoyed it so immensely, but 4oz’s at a time, at the 2005 Florida Brewers Guild Beerfest.
Poured a hazy golden orange body and a thick cobwebby creamy head. The aroma and flavor were a cornucopia of fruit… pears, apples, apricot peaches, nectarines and other assorted orange zests, with a hint of raisins. There were also notes of black pepper corns and light clove. It was lightly sweet with honey, but bready and doughy in the finish. I entirely enjoyed this one, a largly complex brew!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 apost8n8 (123) - Oklahoma, USA - FEB 5, 2005
Cloudy orange in color with little to no head. Served cold in an trappist glass. Great floral and citricy nose. mouthfeel was multilevel, certainly not thick, but the higher alcohol gave it more weight in the mouth. Flavor was sweet and hoppy, with a great tangy finish. By far the best from Mcguire’s and near the top of my list as most enjoyable beer.
