Growler, thanks to fishingnet for sharing! Poured dark brown with a thin brown head. Roasted nose with notes of coffee and nuts. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is very nice roasted malt with a good chocolate presence. Finish is slightly dry with some lingering chocolate notes. Highly drinkable.

On tap at pub. This was a sweet and smooth - not very heavy for a porter. Very drinkable.

Tap at McGuire’s in Destin - not a porter fan, but this one was OK considering - dark color, mild roast flavor, not overpowering, mild chocolate malt flavor

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2007 Had this on draft at McGuires’s Irish Pub in Pensacola, FL. Poured a very dark brown color with nice white head that hung around a long time. Aroma was roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor was very subtle: roasted malt, chocolate, with a little nuttiness. Mouthfeel was very smooth with little carbonation. Drinkability was good.

A typical Porter with some nice hops. Very dark, but not opaque. Nice taste, clean finish. A carbonated mouthfeel. It’s a nice example of the style.

Draft at the Pub. Poured a very dark brown with a small tan head that lasted to the end. Aroma of dark roasted malt and coffee. Earthy flavor of dark malt and coffee. Lightly carbonated and not too cold. A very drinkable porter.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 KarmanGhia (276) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 27, 2004
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2005 For a micro porter - an "hit or miss" style in my opinion - this passes the test. What’s great about this one is that it pours a truly ruby color - very dark - but still ruby. The tast is certainly roasty, but it is also hoppy and rich with some caramel and maybe some of the red ale’s "raspberry" hops flavor. This is a good porter overall.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Fatehunter (160) - - MAR 25, 2012
Came in a standard U.S. pint glass. Dark brown color with no head.
It had a slight coffee smell. Behind that was an unpleasant sour smell.
Tasted like a strong, bitter coffee, then watery. A little roasted malt. The unpleasant smell came forward as a bitter/sour taste.
Lighter body and low carbonation.
A real disappointment. Watery taste with an off-taste. I asked someone else in my party what they thought of it and they shared the same type of off-taste traits.

Pours a dark black and has an aroma and flavour of roasted coffee and chocolate. I drank this out of a shaker.
