COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ruby Chestnut in color and not as heavy as our stout. McGuire's porter will help what ales ya after a hard days work. Chocolate Malt balanced with Willamette Hops gives this full-bodied ale its smooth, distinct flavor.

tap at Mad Anthony Oktoberfest - Pours brown, not even dark brown really, which is odd for a porter. There’s a thin off-white head and a light, roast malt aroma. The flavor is mainly just easy going roast malt with some hops coming through in the finish. Not bad, but it’s less than impressive for a porter.

Came in a standard U.S. pint glass. Dark brown color with no head. It had a slight coffee smell. Behind that was an unpleasant sour smell. Tasted like a strong, bitter coffee, then watery. A little roasted malt. The unpleasant smell came forward as a bitter/sour taste. Lighter body and low carbonation. A real disappointment. Watery taste with an off-taste. I asked someone else in my party what they thought of it and they shared the same type of off-taste traits.

Tap at McGuire’s in Destin - not a porter fan, but this one was OK considering - dark color, mild roast flavor, not overpowering, mild chocolate malt flavor

2/3/11. On tap at the Destin location. Brown pour (red with light) under a small khaki head that fades fast. Funky sour bitter infected coffee aroma with lots of cereal grains. Sourish coffee flavor with loads of cereal grains - tastes like I’m eating Wheaties mixed with coffee and a little cough syrup. Meh.

Pours a dark black and has an aroma and flavour of roasted coffee and chocolate. I drank this out of a shaker.

Draft. Small ivory head, opaque body, excellent lacing, and a reddish brown hue. The aroma was malty, sweet and lightly roasty. The flavor was a carbon copy of the aroma with hints of hops. The mouthfeel was smooth and a light-medium bodied porter. Easy to drink but did not knock my socks off overall as the flavor just needed more flavor.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a . The almost non-existant aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of mild hops and brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

Growler, thanks to fishingnet for sharing! Poured dark brown with a thin brown head. Roasted nose with notes of coffee and nuts. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is very nice roasted malt with a good chocolate presence. Finish is slightly dry with some lingering chocolate notes. Highly drinkable.

Growler courtesy of fishingnet. Poured a dark brown, near black. Nose was toasty malt and smoke. Flavor was toasted malt, ask, some smoke and slight sweet barley.
