On tap at KSBF ’11. Golden in color with a smaller sized head. Citrus, nice funkiness, and some spices. Tastes of citrus, funk, and fruity. This one had a nice funk to it.

Several samples at the Kennett Brewfest. Clear orange brown with a touch of foam. Nose is lemon, funk and cider vinegar. Medium light with soft carb. Taste is apple juice and grass with hints of sour cherry.

Thanks to yourefragile for sharing this growler after the Zwanze 2011 event. Served in a Val-Dieu chalice. Pours a nice golden color with a good white head that fades pretty quickly without much lacing. The nose brings forward some nice barrel character with oak and wine. A bit of earth there as well. The flavor has the same components, but there’s also something slightly medicinal about it, which factors into the feel as well. Fairly tannic and too oaky. Overall, nice, but not to the level of Vautour and some of McKenzie’s other beers.
