Bottle 03. Pours reddish brown with a big foamy white head. Aroma is very sweet and spicy. Spicey flavor with dark fruits, carmel, clove, and mild yeast and a little alcohol. Kind of smooth, buttery mouthfeel.

Appears a murky, copper toned amber with a 1 finger off white head that slowly fades out into a gentle collar. Mild speckles of lacing are left around the goblet. Smell is of a raisin & plum reduction infused with light brown sugar, yeasty dough, and a dash of cooked banana, and light dusting of cocoa & powderized vanilla. Mmmhmmm...sure do love that Rochefort yeast. It’s the shizle. Taste is of the same great aromas, only better. The complex flavors materialize into a well blended Belgian Ale. Perhaps not as complex as Rochefort itself but if Scotty Morrison could bottle these again and us uber-beer-geeks could sit on them for a while, I’m sure it would ripen beautifully. Mouthfeel is sugary, yeasty, mildly spicy, and semi-dry.

Bottle: Poured an amber color with a medium sized head. The aroma was yeasty with banana and sugar malts. The flavor was very good, with hints of fruit, chocolate, toffee, sugar, and some spiciness. Overall, a favorite from McKenzie.

Pour is a chestnut brown color with light tan head. The nose is overly sweet, cherries, woody and boozy with a touch of acetone. Similar flavor, sugary, sweet cherries, boozy and woody. Fuller body, syrupy and creamy with a juicy feel and light carb.

KSBF 08- Poured a copper brown with tan decent head. Got a light bread malt nose. Malty with some caramel, dark sugars. Smooth malt palate with a touch of sweetness and a buttery spicy texture. Good beer and a nice brewery.

Pours a rusty amber with a huge head that fades slowly. Aroma of hay, spice, slight barnyard, and mild dark fruit. Flavor is a blend of elegant fruit, malts, wheat, sugar, and tea like hops. Interesting and different. Rich but light and drinkable.

Very good Abbey. Palate is wonderful on the mouth, and the smell is great! Taste is good and it goes down smooth. A keeper.
