2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 obxdude10 (1831) - Pottstown, USA - MAR 26, 2010
McKenzie’s APA isn’t all that great. It pours a golden color with a decent sized head that leaves some nice lacing. The nose has some hops to it, but mostly pine and caramel malt. The body is smooth and very drinkable, but the flavors aren’t anything to write home about. I get some hoppiness from the palate, along with some bready and malty tones. The finish is a little bland and uninteresting. This, unfortunately, isn’t one of the better APAs I’ve sampled.
