Pale golden pour. The aroma is lovely. Soft and spicy. A little bit of herbal hopping in addition to the light peppery aroma. Minerally bitterness. Lean pils malt making up the base. A great soft lingering bitterness. The yeast is really expressive with a mix of spice and light minerally flavour. Nice stuff.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Goodgrief (1608) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Sampled side by side with the Saison Vautour and this one can’t compare at all. Not a bad little farmhouse ale, but maltier and sweeter and less dry than thae Vautour...and had less character subsequently.

pours a deep amber color with no head though it is a bit lively looking...very poor retention and lacing. aroma is graqiny/wheaty with a touch of spice...clove...and earthy hops. flavor is very earthy with notable rye and black pepper. mouthfeel is very lively...refreshing and brisk with a mildly peppery, earthy finish. a decent enough session beer for a brewpub.
