callmemickey (3625) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 7, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 Rich amber-orange-brown body. Nose is comprised of a mildly musty/funky oak, dark fruits, yeast, and mild oxidation (sherry-like notes). Flavor is similar, but the flavors are less polished and fight with one another to control the profile. Lightly acetic. Medium bodied, a bit thin, assertive carbonation. My first impression was an inferior version of Rosso E Marrone. Underwhelming.

Pours a hazy orange-brown color with off-white head. Aroma is sour pit fruits, wood, and light vinegar. Taste is tart with a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied with a oily mouthfeel yet the finish is somewhat dry. Prett good beer.

Thanks to the kind soul at the last Tampa Tasting that shared this one. Degarth, maybe? Pours a murky orange-brown with a white head. Nose is funk, vinegar, caramel, slight funky and earthy berry. Flavor is similar with funk and earthy berry. Medium in body and funky; I think I remember this one gushing like Old Faithful.

Aroma is barnyard and earthy notes, bright fruits, light spicy hops and biscuit malt. Flavor is tart fruits, barnyard and earthy notes, malt backbone and a dry finish. Medium body, low warmth and high carbonation.

Fruity red berry and apple juice nose, light toffee. Taste is moderately sweet and moderately bitter with a light tartness, lots of baked pear, light black berry.

750ml bottle: pours a clear effervescent dark orange with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a semi-sweet light cherry nose with some vinous oaky complexity. Starts with pretty good fullness and light biscuity malts with a sweet and sour cherry flavor and some oaky balance before a drier slightly puckering finish. Pretty true to style and complex.

Bottle number 2 shared blind by Barrythebear, thanks Barry. I had no idea what this one was, but I liked it quite a bit. Muddy brown pour and a gusher. Nice flavor. Kinda a sour mix.

Bottle 2 of 480, shared by BarrytheBear...thanks Barry! - Hazy amber pour with a thin-bubbled off-white head. Nose is grapefruit, sweet light malt with tropical fruit notes. Some sweet sugary candied fruit. Lightly tart and funky, with lots of citrus and a light maltiness. Nice tart citrus rind finish. Well-carbonated and full-bodied. Very nice stuff.
