COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian style farmhouse ale balances a bold, spicy yeast character with a dry hoppiness. A significant addition of malted rye adds further complexity without betraying the styles roots. Draft (and bottlings prior to 2010) are clean with no wild yeast.

Saison to a tee. Not all that impressive but drinakable. Towatds the tail end of my 8 beer sampler. Starting to feel it!

Pale yellow pour with lots of head and some lace. Smell is corn, hops, yeast, citrus. Reminded me of a pale lager almost. One of the more hoppier saisons I’ve tried. Taste is same as smell. Lots of hops, light lager taste at first followed by a kick of cinnamon, berry, and alcohol.

Shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael. This is the version without barrel aging and wild yeast. The beer appears transparent and light yellow hued with a half inch of white head that generates some decent lacing. Aromas include floral, yeast and citrus notes. Flavor is nice and well balanced. Refreshing and easy to drink. Light to medium bodied. I much prefer the bottled version that incorporates wild yeast, as I find it much more delicious, intriguing, and complex. Still, this is a tasty brew, and I would happily have it again. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 11-06-2011

Draft at Capones. Poured a golden/yellow under a smaller white foamy head. Aroma of pepper, funk, grass. Medium bodied with average to slightly strong carbonation. Flavor of breads, grains, pepper, funk, lemons, and a touch of bubble gum sweetness. Solid beer.

Draft at The Boilermaker in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a clear, pale golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Slightly grassy, earthy aroma with a strong light fruit presence and subtle booze.  Not as funky as expected with faint spice(coriander/pepper) and musty hay.  Hints of apple and pear dominate the nose. Medium bodied but slightly fuller than expected with subtle funkiness and a strong spice presence that lingers over the sweetner notes into dry finish.  Hints of earthy, grassy hops and subtle barnyard funk followed by pepper and zesty citrus peel.  Toward the end of swallow, sweetness comes in with booze and light fruit notes.  Slightly funky and full bodied yet still drinkable and refreshing.  Not terribly interesting but sessionable.

Draft at Glen Mills. Pours hazy straw with off-white head. Nose is funky yeasty malt, some grainy and citric notes. Tastes rye malty, somewhat funky, with finishing floral, yeasty, and hops.

Bottle from Kramer - thanks! Hazy, glowing yellow pour with a substantial froth of white foam. Aroma is clean, dry wheat with pepper and spice (perhaps the rye). Taste is spicy up front with pepper followed by wheat a slight suggestion of tart (but it really isn’t) and an interesting yeast character into the finish I cannot quite pin down. Smooth and crisp mouthfeel. Very good beer.

Big thanks to yourefragile for opening this one up at the Fantome tasting. Served in a Fantome glass. Pours a clear golden straw color with a good white head and a bit of lacing. The nose is faint pepper with light citrus and some grain and a bit of wheat. Taste is mildly tannic with a good bit of grain and wheat. Slight saison spice. Slight twang to the finish. A bit too much grain flavor, but otherwise light body and crisp carbonation.

Pours solid peach amber in color with a very small almost nonexistant white tan head. The aroma has light fruity yeast notes, more like syrup peaches than the normal banana or citrus. The flavor is tangy and settles sour afterward with and the wild yeast flavors round the whole thing out. The body is just the right thickness and the carbonation is right on the money.
