Small offwhite/tan head. Fair retention, stringy lace. Good lookin clear amber/brown color. Malty, nutty nose. Med/light body, good mouthfeel. Good malt flavor, lightly fruity, nutty, hints of caramel. Fairly dry finish, creamy.

pobenohne (504) - Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 22, 2004
On draft at the Standard tap. Not even a hint of head on this brew, and carbonation bubbles were invisible. Nevertheless, definitely carbonated: a mild malty brown ale. Boring maybe, but okay all the same.

michael-pollack (4962) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2004
Slight scent of sour milk, Poured clear amber-brown-orange, with an off-white, lasting head. Good lacing. Flavor of burnt, roasted malts, wod, cardboard, and smoke. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Overall, nothing special.

Sample at the brewpub. Darkish, slightly cloudy elm, with a bit of creamy head. Malty nose; light orangy, woody flavor; low carbonation and very dry finish.

A middle-of-the-road amber, with a nice maltiness, and a finish of caramel, cognac, and hops. Pretty good.

I was good enough for me to grab another pint. Clear, reddish color with a nice head. Tasted a bit lighter than it looked.

Nothing special about this brew. Very drinkable but not too much body or uniqueness. Excellent clear color with nice carbonation.

Very common amber ale, nothing that stands out a whole lot, kept a pretty decent head, average brew
