COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Australian Pale Ale
Whilst the grape is usually associated with McLaren Vale, it is the region’s epicurean tradition which is most pervasive. With this in mind, we are pleased to introduce Vale Ale — a bottle conditioned premium pale ale hailing from one of the world’s great wine regions, McLaren Vale. To be one of the leading beers in the world. Vale Ale is a sophisticated and complex Australian ale with great structure and balance. It opens with bright aromas of hops combined with citrus notes. The palate presents a bouquet of pronounced fruit flavours with nutty malt and bitter hops following on the mid palate. The finish is quite dry for a pale ale, perfect to quench a summer’s thirst. It is brewed from the finest malt and hops and fermented with traditional ale yeast. It is not filtered or carbonated but allowed to finish off its fermentation in the bottle which achieves a subtle carbonation that complements the ale style. It finishes light on the palate and leaves a refreshing finish and light effervescence. http://www.valeale.com/

Bottled version brewed at Laverton until the introduction of a bottling line to the Willunga Brewery.

Hazy gold beer, small white head. Crisp palate, semi dry. Minerals. Pale malt. Trace of hops. Crisp finish. Somewhat tasteless.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a good head that fades to some lacing. Mild aroma of fruit and bit of malt sweetness. There is a light fruit flavor with a bit of malt sweetness. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, mild crispness and smooth but fairly bland. A non-offensive pale ale that needs a bit of character.

Had this beer on tap so wasnt as bad as expected. Some citrus in the nose. Taste is light bodied with hints of hops and malts. Not an amazing beer pretty boring

fruity, but not much of a nose apart from that. sweet taste and palate with a touch of fruit on each, but the beer overall is nothing special.

Bland boring beer, not even good ice cold. No real bite to it, leaves you craving more.

The nose has an unexpected earthiness to it that I really like, under which there’s plenty of malt and some tart fruit, such as apple. In the mouth it’s thinner than I expected and a little short. Mainly there’s a creaminess about it, with a pear flavour settling over the middle of the tongue. All in all, it’s got a lovely smell but the taste, apart from the light hoppiness, is a little disappointing - it got flat pretty quickly.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2012 Poured from bottle. Translucent golden colour. Initially with a thin head that recedes quickly. Virtually no lacing. Aroma malty with hints of sweet fruit/apple. Tasta slightly sour. Malty sweetness in mouth. Finish with trace of hops.

330ml Bottle. Subtle citrus hop aromas. A decent nutty malt profile with a refreshing bitterness, but not to bitter. A decent beer

Bottle. A straw yellow beer with small white head. Nose is subtle grainy malt and citrus fruits (pineapple, lychee, lemon). Palate is smooth and clean but the flavour profile is rather muted and it lacks a decent hop finish. Basically a straightforward lawn mower beer, albeit well made.

Pours a cloudy golden colour with a white head. Aroma is malty with some citrus and hops. Taste is also malty with citrus leading to a citrusy and slightly hoppy finish. Not bad.
