COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
{from the label}Mead is one of the oldest beverages known to man. In Greek mythology it was the "Nectar of the Gods". Because of it’s legendary qualities as an aphrodisiac, it was known as the honeymoon drink. It is naturally fermented from honey.

Bottle, 10C. Copper. Aroma of honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, oregano, vanilla, apples. Flat. Only slightly syrupy. Taste is sweet with prominent apples, lightish honey, lemon, vanilla, nutmeg, some cloves. Alcohol is hidden. Acidity is not all that obvious (to me - I know nothing about mead) but the sweetness doesn’t linger on the palate. Easily enjoyable enough to drink the rest but maybe not in one go.

Aromas of cinnamon, cloves, apples and honey. Flavours of apples, cinnamon and honey, sweet and spicy with a lightly tart bite. Pretty well balanced and very pleasant.

Visual: Screw-top, cool font and label. Pours clear auburn with some large bubbles clinging to side of the glass. Nose: Strong cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and apple cider. Attack: dense 8/10-sweet apple-spiced sugars, dessert wine viscosity Mid-palate: red apple, cloves at the forefront, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel Finish: mild tartness, honey warmth, clean mellow sweet finish. Wow this is an extremely easy-to-drink spiced mead. It must be the fact that the spices go so well with the mead that this hardly tastes like mead at at all. In fact this drinks more like mulled apple juice with alcohol hidden in the background. I can confidently say that I could polish off a bottle of this by myself any day of the week.

Amber color, bright. Aroma of mulled cider: stewed apple and cinnamon. Semi sweet mouthfeel; if it has mead flavor, that would be hidden by the spices; it has nevertheless a fresh lemony character, and decent acidity level.
Overall, not a real mead, but a pleasant drink.

Clear burnt orange color. Fruity aroma. Some clove. Slight sourness. Very sweet flavour with a bit more clove. Tart. Much too sweet for me, but the flavour is pleasing and it makes a nice change.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2011 Bottle shared with northropfrye. Taste of honey infused with cloves that hit you after. It’s refreshing and smooth. I thought it would be heavier. Surprisingly palatable.
