3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Mid brown colour with good clarity. Small cream head dissipates quickly. Aromas of caramel and floral hops with a hint of coffee. Crisp floral hops move quickly into sweetish caramel, coffee and molasses. Reasonably thin, but there is some body provided by the roasted malts. Good example of an American dark lager. Highly drinkable.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My favourite beer. I discovered it about 3 years ago but it has been getting harder to find lately. Hopefully that will change now that my local Dan Murphys is carrying it (it’s the first time I’ve seen it at any Woolworths owned store).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First attempt at ratebeer rating style: Pours very deep brown, clear, small thin fizzy head that quickly disappears. Aroma toasty and moderately hoppy. Light body, high carbonation. Taste is lightly bitter with a light bitter hop and dark malt finish.
Decent dark lager (not my favourite style). Well matched with sauerkraut and roast anchovies/almonds

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. A clear, ruddy chestnut brown with a small, fading, fizzy beige head. Roasted malt, dark fruit and chocolate characters with a delicately yeasty, nutty, boiled malts and dried fruit mid-palate. Light to medium body and medium carbonation finishing with moderate intensity, relatively lengthy roasted malt and coffee-styled bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A little bit citrusy, light to medium body, but remember, it’s a lager, not an ale! Sweet. Roast nuts. Quite nice.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is an odd brew. Sort of a cross between a citrusy American pale ale and a dark lager. Strong citrus aroma.and flavour but rounded out with a great coffee taste. However it is almost sickly sweet

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
It pours a dark brown red. The head is a thin lacing. The aroma is of coffee and a very interesting salty smell. The aroma doesn’t translate to the taste well, quite thin.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear but dark mahogany brown with brick red highlights and a small tan head. Aromas of soft fruit (like stewed apple or pear), Cocoa powder, and touches of lemon and flowers. The taste lets it down a little - the fruit is still there but the chocolate note seemed to disappear altogether. Virtually no bitterness, though a slightly grassy hop element comes through. Clean finish with a light fruity aftertaste. Not bad at all.
