American Style India Pale Ale
Vale/IPA is our interpretation of an american india pale ale. Using a combination of hops from three countries. This beer is designed with a balance of malt and hops giving a firm bitterness showing passionfruit, citrus and stone fruit characters derived from the hops.

Bottled version brewed at Laverton until the introduction of a bottling line to the Willunga Brewery.

Strong sweet aroma of toffee and grassy hops. Pours cloudy, dark amber colour. Feels slick with medium body and lively carbonation. Taste is medium/heavy sweet with toffee flavours and a heavy bitter aftertaste for the style. Overall a good IPA.

Faint golden, tuft white head. Light melon and faint orange. No firm anything here, simple bitter and faded malt. Decently carbonated but finishes silvery bitter at best.

on tap at the local taphouse in sydney. amber with next to no head, as sydney pub culture demands. aroma of white grape, orange rind; light hop character - low bitterness, lychee sweetness. pleasant anyway

Really citrusy, but balanced beer. Not as bitter as American IPAs. Probably because most of us Australians have a phobia of hops. Nice stuff though.

Tasted 6/6: Bottle: Moderate head. Good lift dominated by hops and malt. Moderate bitterness and good length. Finally some flavor and style from the guys down in the Vale. .

330ml bottle. Poured a lively, clear amber with a firm and lasting off-white head that left a scattered, soapy lace. Fragrant nectarine, orange marmalade and peach aromas with a caramel malt sweetness. More inclined towards nutty and bready malts to taste but with plenty of fruit qualities on offer here too. Light to medium body though slightly hollow in the mid-palate. Medium carbonation and a lengthy but modestly intense finish of zesty, pithy hops and tangerine.

Pours a lightish amber with a fine white head. Nose is interesting for an IPA. Honey, raisin, candied orange. Flavor is candied orange, burnt sugar, a little bitterness on the finish. Slightly thin and watery body. Interesting aroma and flavor. I’d love to see this aroma and flavor profile with some more hoppiness and body.
