COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THIS IS OUR INTERPRETATION OF WHAT A NEW WORLD CRAFT LAGER SHOULD BE, APPROACHABLE, SESSIONABLE, BALANCED AND FLAVOURSOME. THIS BEER IS FILTERED FOR SMOOTH AND REFRESHING CRISPNESS WITH MEDUM CARBONATION. THE 100% MALTED GRAIN PROFILE IS A COMBINATION OF PILSNER, CARAPILS AND LIGHT MUNICH, WHILST THE HOP BILL INCLUDES THE NOBLE GERMAN HOP TETTNANG, AUSTRALIAN HELGA AND NZ PACIFICA. THE SWEET MALT CHARACTERS ARE BALANCED BY THE EARHTY SPICE AND FRESH CITRUS KICK AND FLORAL NOTES DERIVED FROM THE HOPS.

Bottled version brewed at Laverton until the introduction of a bottling line to the Willunga Brewery.

I created an account just to say how wrong pmuzz is. This beer is a Lager, not an Ale, itís not supposed to have hops and malt smashing you in the face as you drink it. Itís not a German Pilsner and itís not supposed to be anything like the American style rice lagers like anything from CUB or Lion Nathan. It is actually a very well balanced Lager, with a good hop aroma and decent body. The finish is clean, crisp and refreshing. if youíre looking for a beer thatís not the same as the Brewing Giants flavourless rice beers, but still want a good refreshing beer that you can session on without it being grassy or sweet, then this very well balanced Lager is what youíve been looking for. Probably the best Aussie lager i have had in years!

Rated for what it is, a Pale Lager. Description fits the end result. Hops are quite pleasant in aroma and and malts are bready with maybe a hint of vanilla back there. Fares more then good stacked up against others, say Boags or Cascade. Nicely crafted Pale Lager.

330ml bb 24/05/2014 Clean pale gold body, holds a good inch of white foam. Good intensity aroma; citrus, melon, passionfruit, guava, light toasty cereal maltiness. Medium carbonation and body, crisp and clean overall. Pale cereal malts lay a backbone for tropical fruit, citrus, spice hops. Light bitterness to finish. Nice lager... Good hop character, clean overall

From a 330ml bottle on 13/6/2013. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow with a medium bright white head. Not too much in the way of aroma - just a bit of grain and a hint of fruit. The flavour surprised me - itís actually rather pleasant. Thereís quite a bit of bready malt, a touch of citrus, and a moderate dash of hops, which makes it quite refreshing. Has a light body and lively carbonation. Iíve come to expect to be disappointed by McLaren Vale beers, but itís pleasing to see them come up with an above average pale lager. Like the label as well.

Clear, light gold with a thin pale head, fizzy. Citrusy aroma, malt, a little bready. Taste is sweet, malty, and a bit thin. Itís ok, definitely better than a lot of Australian lagers going around

BB 23/5/14. Poured a clear golden colour with a two-finger white foamy head that retained well for a while but then diminished and laced poorly. High carbonation with many large bubbles forming trails. Aroma subtly of sweet malt. taste of very sweet malt with no real bitterness. Light body. Smooth and light with a very sweet finish. Average for a craft lager.
