troopie (430), USA Jul 29, 2007 Draught at Kennedy school. Tarru black with tan head. Lekker chocolate nose, with notes of hop. Creamy chocolate malt flavour, with notes of roast malt and sugar. Creamy finish, with just a note of dryness and bitterness to keep it from being cloying. awaisanen (1100), Irvine, California, USA Jul 1, 2007 On tap at the Kennedy School location; nitrogenated. Deep murky black color with some softer charcoal shades and a tight layer of creamy tan head. Aroma is restrained, but has a soft milk chocolate nose with a hint of vanilla bean. Creamy chocolate mouse and caramel coffee mocha. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel that’s the perfect weight and sweetness for the serving method. The flavors are really well put together on this one. Milk chocolate syrup and malt balls start out softly on the palate, matching the texture perfectly. The flavors transition seemlessly into a bit darker, more interesting ground of anise, brown sugar, and dark dry chocolate notes. Finishes dry with a pleasant smack of minty hops. boFNjackson (457), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 24, 2007 Nitro Tap at Rams Head Pub... Poured a deep black with a frothy brown head. Roasted malt aroma, mildly carbonated palate. Flavors of chocolate/mocha coffee, a touch of caramel or brown sugar. Finished silky smooth with a metallic aftertaste. glkaiser (864), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 9, 2007 Had on nitro at the Queen Anne location in Seattle. Dark black w/ ultra creamy light brown head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Roasted malt in the flavor with coffee and chocolate. Pretty darn good. Light and sessionable, but still gives you plenty of taste.
