COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin. Malts: Pale Malt; Crystal Malt Hops: Cascades Specifications: Original Gravity: 1.056; Terminal Gravity: 1.010; Alcohol by Weight: 4.7% Calories/pint: 241

Tap@McMenamins, Eugene, Oregon. Tasted more English than American to me. Nicely dry bready malts, with a salty, lightly aromatic finish, pretty good. Good bitterness on the finish.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2005 Copper color, off-white head, nice lacing. Nose of light citrusy toasted malts and lightly vegetal hops; dms notes. The flavor is light and mellow, a bit tart and acidic. Lots of bitterness in the tail. Unbalanced, watery, decent nose though.

Caramel malts, bread and floral hops on the nose. A hint of citrus. Nose is not overly assertive. Pours orange golden witha decent head. Lightly sweet, caramel and toast with floral hops in the back end. A little too heavy feeling for style imo. Subdued but well made.

Draft at the Mill Creek brewpub. Hazy-to-cloudy golden blonde under no head or lace. Vacant nose, watery, flat, shy, timid. Light sticky cereal sugar on the mid-palate, no finish. Barely a beer.

Medium copper color, slightly cloudy. Medium head. Aroma is floral hops and a touch of malts. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are grapefruity and floral. Nicely balanced. Sweet, but with a nice hop bite. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Finish is slightly bitter with a touch of floral hops.
