Spring is in full bloom, and its song plays the soundtrack to a beautiful season. Wanting to add our instrument to the collaboration, the McMenamin’s brewers were inspired to produce Jam Session ISA. A light and easy drinking beer that embodies the spirit of spring as it fades into summer. We jazzed up this session ale with an ensemble of hops and arrangement of malts. Brewed in the style of an India Session Ale, or Indie Session Ale (to avoid being mainstream), you’ll find a brew that has low alcohol levels and full flavor.
Chinook hops are the bass beat providing a driving pulse of citrus notes. Sterling and Centennial hops play off each other creating a harmony of floral tastes and aromas to round out this symphonic trio of hop flavor. We have used a composition of grains to provide balance to this masterpiece. Golden Promise and Premium 2-Row malts create the backdrop to this subtly sweet performance, while Vienna and Crystal 15 provide hint of style and color to the vibe.
Being an India style, expect our trio of hops to be the front man of this band; providing strong riffs of floral, pine and a beat of citrus. A majority of the hops are added in late additions, which provides full flavors and aromas without the bittering astringency. Whether you’re a hard-rock’n IPA drinker or a classical golden ale drinker, you’ll find the essence and song of the season in every pint. Enjoy a Jam Session ISA and turn up the volume your day up to 11. A one, a two, a one, two, three, Cheers!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Six Arms. Pours pale yellow golden with thin lacey white head. Aroma is thin pale malt with decent earthy spicy hop finish. Taste is similar, lingering bitter aftertaste. Very thin bodied, quite watery - even for the style. Low abv, as expected. Nice hoppy aroma, just needs more body.

Pint at Thompsons Brewpup in Salem.
Golden /yellow beer with a small white bubbly head..,much like a lager.
Aroma is more of the same but with maybe a bit o resiny hop.
Good hoppy bite to the beer but a smooth rich golden malt toffee ending brings it in the golden arena.
Nice smooth mouthfeel
