| An American Strong Ale brewed by McMenamins Pubs and Breweries Portland, Oregon USA
| |
BillKismet (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2008 Orange-amber with perfect hopped fluff head. A boost of bitter hops in the aroma definitely indicate this a strong ale of the American kind. Hops dominate the flavor, but are held up by a sturdy backbone. A hoppier, slightly less viscous take on Stone’s Arrogant Bastard. This stuff would be great to sip year around. Moderately dry, wonderful lingering hop tingle. I would call this an American Strong ESB, as the floral hops are somewhat muted and their is a wonderful bitterness that makes this dangerously quaffable.
