While many other breweries have followed suit, we still make this Ruby exactly as we first did: Light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Over 55 pounds of hand-macerated, fresh, whole raspberries are used in every batch. Taste the original! Pink with a pinkish head, very raspberry and maybe a little lemon citrus. Finish is short.

The nose is the star attraction of this brew--one can actually tell there is raspberry in this stuff...Appearance is enhanced by pink tones from the fruit--otherwise cloudy...Body and flavor are predictably light but quite pleasant---this is a brew for refreshment, afterall...One pint of this is enough for one session, however...I like it as a change-of-pace starter.

Tap out west Two words: Chick Beer. I can sense SA Cranberry "Lambic" when I taste it.

Looks like pink champagne or ruby red grapefruit juice. Light raspberry smell, with a fun palate. Refreshing. A better raspberry than most.

BeerZack (288) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAR 20, 2008
Had on tap at Edgefield. Cloudy light orange with thin ring of fizz for a head. Smells of raspberry syrup, cranberry, sour cherry and hint of light malt- no hop smell. Slightly sweet raspberry flavor with light pale malt background. The somewhat dry finish keeps it drinkable. Light bodied feel with low, soft carbonation. This beer is a great ingredient for their vinaigrette dressing.

pale golden color with a touch of pink. white head. light ras aroma. less ras flavor but seems to add sweetness that balances with just a touch of bitterness. medium body but a little watery at the same time. maybe a fruit beer that a non-fruit beer person might like, a little. hot sunny rafting beer.

A pretty decent easy drinking fruit beer. IF only they used more hops and malt to achieve a higher gravity....then this would be a great beer.

Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Sweet and sour grapefruit aroma. A hazy ruby color with light white head. A tart flavor of raspberries - malt is faint and hops are absent. Light, thin bodied and refreshing. Would be great on a hot day.

Not bad for a fruit beer, key words being for a fruit beer. Awfully sweet. Someone told me this was good mixed with their terminator stout, but why ruin a perfectly good terminator stout?

I really enjoyed this. finally, a raspberries actually tasted like real raspberries and they weren't dominating. Decent underlying wheat. This is one of the better fruit beers I've had.
