COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
n 1985, McMenamins became the first brewery in the U.S.A. to legally use fruit in the creation of ales. While many other breweries have followed suit, we still make this Ruby exactly as we first did: Light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Over 55 pounds of hand-macerated, fresh, whole raspberries are used in every batch. Taste the original!

Bottle at Craig’s. Pale amber, pinkish hue. Aromas of fruit and caramel. Taste does have a hint of raspberry to it, but not a lot. Mostly caramel. OK.

Hazy red/pink with a small pinkish head, light lacing. Mild aroma of raspberry. Flavors of raspberry, mild tartness and some sweetness
Ok, but I wouldn’t want another

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 Big raspberry aroma on a cloudy orange beer. More of a malty flavor than I expected, crisp and powerful. This is an interestingly good and unique beer. Want more.

Cloudy yellowish with slight red hue. Wheaty aroma with raspberry essence. Flavor is more of the same. Raspberries taste natural. Tart and wheaty. A nice fruit beer

Portland trip. Sampled on draft this beer poured a cloudy golden color with just a faint red tinge. The flavor was light sweet raspberry. The flavor was sweet raspberry with a light bready undertone. Medium finish and body. Nice.

Hazy gold color with a light creamy head . The aroma is very light, almost non-existant, a touch of raspberry, but it could be discounted easily. Finishes lightly malty and surprisingly good. Almost no flavor here. A run of the mill cookie cutter franchise micro, eh.

kramer (5360) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Tap. Pours a cloudy reddish gold body with a minimal fizzy white head that faded quickly to a thin ring. The nose is full of raspberry sweetness and a pale doughy malt base. The flavor is rather sweet with a raspberry extract finish and some light doughy malt. Medium bodied and a touch sticky with fizzy soft carbonation. Pretty bland and predictable.

Light raspberry color. Light bodied wheat ale, infused with a raspberry flavor. Fruit flavor is mild and subtle, very slightly sweet. Malts are mild and slightly hoppy. Interesting taste. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
