Bottle 750ml. @ cgarvieuk [ Lets do a chrisO Tasting ], Edinburgh, Scotland.

[ As McMenamins Ruby ].
Clear medium amber yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, vegetables, light caramel, floral fruit - berry. Flavour is moderate sweet with a long duration, vegetables, sweet fruit - malt - sugar (asume that is the raspberries). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140315]

Light, hazy golden pour. Small head and a little lace. Blended malts and raspberry. There goes the raspberries in the flavor. Not a lot else present. Fuzzy palate, almost like eating one of the berries. Good if you like raspberries... a lot.

Draught at the Six Arms, Seattle Rosy pink as watermelon juice, with no trace of a head, muddy. If I inhale VERY deeply and long, I can get indeed some raspberry aroma. But is says "packed full of 60 pounds or raspberries...". Yes, on - the city’s water reservoir? Discreet fruit taste, as a bit of raspberry jam dissolved in a big galss of tap water (well, then maybe not as Seattle tap water contains lethal doses of chlorine). Refreshing it is, no doubt. OK, it’s light. Very poor fruit beer.

Draft at Sherwood location. Arrived looking like pink grapefruit juice,, cloudy and pale pink color with little to no head. Raspberry dominates aroma, flavor is crisp and wheaty with berry and fruit notes and hints of hop. Medium body and gentle carbonation. Not bad for a summer cooler.

A pretty decent easy drinking fruit beer. IF only they used more hops and malt to achieve a higher gravity....then this would be a great beer.

7/18/08 On draught at the Kennedy School. Aroma is candilike sweet fruit. Appearance is hazy pink with a medium maintained white head. Flavor is raspberry sweetness forward but not strong, and with almost no bittering. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a very light spritzy carb texture. Overall, the flavor of the base style and the raspberry are just too light.

On tap at Kennedy School location. Color of yellowish/gold. Aroma of raspberry and bread; a bit earthy. Flavor was thin and somewhat diluted. Raspberry with a wheaty, hay finish. A bit watery. Not great.
