ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Jan 13, 2009 Bottle from my friend in Oregon, thanks Rob. Pours out a nice black color with a tan head on it. Smell is full of roasted coffee and malts, perhaps a bit much carbonation at first. The taste is kind of thin and watery, not as thick as I was hoping it was going to be. By the end of the bottle it basically serves as a session stout. Not bad, but perhaps not really something I want to revisit. Worth trying once though. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Jan 12, 2009 RoySt.Seattle, Nov. 2008: Pitch black color, thin nose and taste. Bit chocolatey, tiny bitterness. Ok- but not too thrilling. Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Dec 29, 2008 Very dark, thin white head. Slight aroma of coffee. Nice mix of milk chocolate and coffee with cream. A bit thin in body, but drinkable. hayduke (1621), Eureka, California, USA Dec 28, 2008 Poured black from a 22 oz bottle with robust tan head and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts with chocolate and coffee. Smooth mouthfeel. Light bodied for a stout. Roasted malt flavor. Dry bitter finish. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 Tap @ six arms. Good black pour with attractive head. Smoked out malts and sweet vanilla ice cream flavors work well together and provide a good balance for this brew which has dusty drying hop echoes in the finish. Nice. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 1, 2008 Super delicious. At first sip I knew I’d want more. Maybe even some to take home. Pours black w/ tan head. Aroma is roasty, and nutty. Flavor is dark and sweet, with some roastiness and hops to balance the sweetness. Finish is pleasant. Makes you want more. Yum. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 19, 2008 On tap at more McMenamins’ than I have space to list. Dark brown pour with a lighter brown head that evaporates swiftly. Bitter elements abound and it’s a little too light bodied for a stout, but I’ve enjoyed way too many of these over the years to shortchange it too much. Bonus points for the outstanding Terminator Milkshakes you can get at some of the locations. Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 24, 2008 7/18/08 On draught at the Kennedy School. Aroma is rich with roast and creamy sweetness. Appearance is dark brown with a medium maintained tan head. Flavor is sweet and roasty, with some black toast bittering. Mouthfeel is full bodied with low but somewhat biting carb texture. Overall, very good and rich.
