Comes out of the tap an opaque chocolaty sable with a thick, fine-bubbled tan head that sticks around a while and leaves some heavy lacing. Rich, smoky, chocolaty aroma has undertone of quality coffee and hint of licorice. Flavor fills the mouth with fine roast coffee, chocolate, molasses and even hoppy tones as well as a licorice hint. Thick, smooth, oily texture has some fizz and leaves behind a nice smoky tingle.

Roasted malt is faint on the aroma. A very deep hue of brown with garnet edges and a beige head. Chocolate, leather and alcohol mingle. Finish has a bitterness that lingers. Creamy velvety mouthfeel. A very enjoyable yet drinkable stout that is sessionable and not too bold in any direction.

Bomber served in a Guinness pint. Pours dark brown-black in color with a short light brown head. Short retention and minimal lacing. Nose is a little funky honestly. Rubbery? Maybe needs to warm. There’s some coffee, nuts, and licorice as well. Mild roasty sweet flavor. Medium-full body, thick texture, lively carbonation, and a medium roasty dry finish. Slightly off but solid.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Very dark walnut brown with a medium brown cap that stays as a thin covering. Aroma is hearty roast, molasses, light chocolate. Palate is generously laden with hard roasted malt, nuances of molasses, bitter chocolate, licorice, light coffee. Medium-to-full bodied, soft mouthfeel. A solid and satisfying stout.

Pretty dry and full mouth feel. Haven’t had it in a while, and it will make a great beer for fall.

Terminator Stout is the quintessential Northwest dark beer. It is ultra-dark in color and highly-carbonated. Buttery smooth going down and I’d have six at a clip if only I could walk afterwards.

Many thanks to Baker for the bomber!.. I believe he said it was from 2006. Poured a healthy shade of deep brown with a short, swirly cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sweet and darker chocolates over a bed of aged molasses and vanilla.. a little bit warm, but mostly aged and sweet. The flavor found slightly tart coffee malts throughout, with related bitterness long gone.. blended baker’s chocolate and molasses joined on the middle.. charred earth and slight smoke around.. finished with grainy coffee and molasses notes joined by campfire smoke. Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. age broke this down a bit and it was likely grainier than it used to be.. for the most part, though, everything was melded together well and this was a tasty drink.

Enjoyed many times at various McMenamins locations. McMenamins scores points with clever labeling and trendy bars/hotels, etc. This is one of my favoirte NW stouts and the stand out from McMenamins, especially good on Nitro. Pours dark brown/black with tan head that is slightly creamy. Nice bit of lacing. Earthy roast coffee aroma and flavor. Slightly bitter but smooth with a sweet, creamy finish. So smooth it could be a session stout.
