| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 9, 2007 One of my favorite stouts. Poured a dark, creamy blackish brown. First flavor was chocolate, but this gave way to the thick rich malt flavor. Thick as pea soup, it was like drinking liquid bread. Warms you to the marrow, and is sweet and bitter. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Draft at the Kennedy School location. Darkly sweet aroma, plenty of semi-sweet chocolate here along with some faint toffee and milky sweetness. Largely opaque brown-black color, head is light tan, lasting and fine. Flavor is likewise full of chocolate, but is also highly roasted and toasty, bitter and gently drying, a good bit of hop flavor enters towards the finish, blending with the bitterness of the roasted grains. Mouthfeel is ultimately dry and somewhat thin, body is light-medium. Your typical roasty stout, pretty much. pdxmickey (33), Spokane, Washington, USA
