A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF.
Amber brown with a thin off white head. Caramel malty base, good grassy hops. A straight forward but well balanced and effortlessly drinkable bitter.

Cask (handpunp) at the Spice of life, Cambridge Circus, August 2009. Good condition. Fairly standard, amber coloured, dry malty bitter. Quite firm mouthfeel. Hops are earthy. Tastes more like a standard bitter than a strong. Somewhat chalky mouthfeel. The usual solid, if unspectacular, stuff from McMullen.

Cask@The Spice Of Life. Ambery golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some sap and mild syrupy sweetness as well. Flavour is wood, some hops and a bit nectary notes. Quite bitter finish.

Cask handpump at GBBF ’09. Well, according to their website, this was only supposed to be available until 24th July, presumably because it was themed on the unsuccessful Lions tour to South Africa. Amber with a small white head. Odd raspberry fruitiness in the aroma. Pleasant sweet malty taste with plenty of biscuit and some bitterness. Not particularly exciting but quite good. A bit like McMullens brewery in fact.
