500ml bottle, Sainsburys. Very dark reddy brown, little head. Raisin, chocolate smell. Not overly hoppy or malty. Sharp and rich, can detect alcohol, spiritlike afterfeel. Little too harsh for my liking.

Bullit (4007) - Burgos, SPAIN - SEP 28, 2011
Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is malty, nutty, bit of brown sugar and molasses. Flavour is malty and nutty, slightly alcoholic. Slightly sweet and fruity strong ale. Medium bodied and alcoholic finish. I can see why people like this, but it’s not really to my liking.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are bready yeast and cookie dough with berries and hints of banana. Chocolate and cream with coffee and liquorice. Flavours are molasses with herbal, medicinal notes. Dark chocolate with blackberry and banana. Xmas pudding with yeast and roast malts and peppery alcohol. Very good.

DruncanVeasey (7134) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2011
Bottle. Pale mahogany swirled with beige. Aroma of sticky dried grape, malt loaf, banana- a bit Highgate. Fine flavour, if a bit boozy with Allsorts, banana and muscovado notes lightly dusted with roast. Marzipan hints; some alcohol showing. Somewhat flimsy in the mouth with an added sugar, as opposed to loafy malt thickness. Emaciated dopplebock stirred with banana?

evergreen0199 (1995) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2011
Bottle from Sainsburys in Pinner. A dark brown/ruby red coloured pour with a small beige head on top. Sweet, caramel aroma. Tastes of caramel, quite sweet, dark fruit, malty. Rich and warming and ideal for Christmas. There is a touch of the Rocheforts about this one. Surprisingly good. Must stock up on this, currently 3 bottles for a fiver.
