COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Champ Ale is a West Coast style pale ale. Also somewhat citrusy, it has notes of concord grapes both in the flavor and the nose. Made from a blend of British and domestic malts, it has a light red or pale rose color and very high drinkability.

On tap. Pours light amber with an off-white head. Aroma of light caramel malts and floral/citrus hops. Average texture, and an average pale ale.

Aroma is lovely, dry English malts. A nice bitter German hop. English bitter dryness. Some ringwood yeast? Appearance is cloudy as hell amber orange. Lots of sediment. Gorgeous bog of lace. Good head retention. The flavor is sweet-but-dry malts with definite yeast. Hint of sour apple; tastes fresh. The hop is bitter spruce, grassy. Bready, earthy malts with a bitter, bready finish. Some flowery pollen. The palate is prickly and dry. Thick. A good English bitter/German Kolsch hybrid. English face with a German booty.

Hazy golden straw pour with a small one finger white head that dissipates rather readily. The Aroma is perfume like with lots of citrus and herbal-grass hop notes. A slight bready character comes through as well, which acts nicely to complement a caramel oriented malt profile. The Flavor is very grassy and vegetative with notes of grape bubble gum, apples, and hay. Again, the malt character is primarily caramel oriented. The palate is smooth and velvety with low effervescence, moderate astringency, and a clean finish.

Courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Bomber pours near copper with off white head. The aroma has some sharp citrus, grainy breadiness and malts. The taste runs up first with citrus hops, some lemon like acidity, grapefruit juice, some orange zest and tangelo. All those notes create a fairly sharp and bitter bite. In the background is a modest amount of malty sweetness. This thing is growing on me and ends much better than it started as my palate adjusts (I assume).

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours hazy straw gold with a white head. Nose is malt, caramel, and some grapefruit/ citrus. Flavor is similar with a slight tart quality. So-so.

Copper pour with an offwhite filmy head. Aroma is lightly caramel malt, grass, a bit of bread, some spiciness, a bit of dirty diaper. Mouthfeel is light. Flavor is grassy, grainy, caramel, a bit of butter. Not good.

Bomber. Pours a copper, hazy, color with a foamy and creamy egg shell head that leaves tons of lacing. Tons of little bubbles cling to the sides of the glass. Nose is a light peach note with toasty malt notes. Palate is kind of dirty feeling, with a light to mediumness, and a light bitter finish. The mouth is sticky. Flavors of peaches and apricots with toasty and bready malt notes.

22 oz. bomber. Pours a cloudy red-brown gold, with yellow-white frothy head. Smells strongly of citric hops, with buttered bread. Taste is a progression of citric hops, to buttery malts, back to sour hop taste on the finish. Has a smooth creamy mouth feel. This ale is pretty good, though there is a predominating sourness to it.
