Golden amber hue. Small sticky white head. Malt nose, light herbal hop aroma. I love this stuff. Starts light and smooth, sweet malt...Then its all hops, herbal, bittering oh so nice. Another great specimen from Ray up in Brattleboro.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2009 Proud earthy, floral hops sliding slowly on the tongue, providing decent wooden bitterness...Delicate caramelized cereals tag along with friendly citrus fruit…A fine quencher, like most of McNeill’s ales...

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice golden-orange hue witha solid rocky head. Tantalizing grapefruit/floral hop nose. The flavour has a good hop bite, grapefruit and piney hop flavours with just the right amount of caramel malt flavour and a hint of chocolate malt to balance. A fantastic APA!

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2003 01:Its rich, golden hue, lack of carbonation, and robust, almost Belgian character make me wonder at the appelation 'American Pale Ale' but no matter, another winner from Vermont's finest brewer.
03: Slightly hazy dull golden hue, small head. Malty-sweet nose with slight lemony hoppiness. Medium-sweet caramel-peachy maltiness at the front, significant bitterness at the end. Very looonnng dry bitter finish. Excellent, though I overrated it two years ago in my Ratebeer infancy.
