Poured a clear medium caramel with a tall, rocky white head... left some nice lacing and there was some light sediment suspended in there (much, much more from the bottom on the second pour). Sweet pine tar in the nose... lots of citrus hoppage (grapefruit and lemon zest), but there was a significant amount of sweet maltage that provided a nice balance. Flavor followed the aroma quite well... lots of pine and citrus hoppage, with a medium caramel backbone. Don’t think this was the freshest sample, though... as the flavors weren’t as crisp as expected or described below. Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2005 Out of a bomber. Aroma heavily hopped very piney. Pour was a hazed orange to amber. Flavor was good the hops had a good enough bite yet a mellow sweetness. Body was nice and finish was just bitter enough. I liked this one alot. PhillyBeer2112 (2097), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Reddish amber, good foaming head. Strong herbal hop aroma, and a definite British influence with a fairly sweet malt profile and well developed light-fruit esters. Hop flavors are low, but a strong finishing bitterness sets this apart. Medium bodied. OlivierMTL (711), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2005 Couleur ambrée tirant vers le rouge-brun.

The aroma is very grassy and the so is the flavor - it tastes like eating fresh hops - too much for me. The hops dries out the mouth. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Murky rust; wispy head. Nose very similar to an English ESB. Murky hop flavor? A little to dry for my tastes. Alcohol is evident. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Chinook? This is an over the top hopped ESB, if there is such a thing. Very Grapefruity. No real malt character. All citrus. Kinda fun.
