COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Firehouse is an immensely drinkable amber that has served as McNeill’s flagship beer for fifteen years. A citrus nose blends with notes of caramel and raisins to make this stand out beer with a full red color.

On tap at Brattleboro’s Marina Restaurant. Aroma is malty with a bit of caramel. Appearance is an amber red with off white head. Taste is very drinkable, but nothing special jumps out. Light bodied. Overall, nothing exciting, but a solid drinkable amber ale.

Bottle pour. Caramel is heavy in this amber that lacked an appropriate amount of head formation for me.

Wood, nut, and citrus in the aroma. Flavor starts slightly sour and fruity. Finish is a little sweet and dry, with a little peppery spice. Not what I expected, but not bad.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/20/12

Aroma: The nose is heavy on dark fruit/raisin, some toasted malts, and a little earthy hops
Appearance: A mostly clear reddish-orange color with a an inch of off-white head and sticky, heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is caramel malts, some bread, a little fruit, and some (unintentionally?) tart/sour yeast
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average-to-lively carbonation, and a mildly astringent finish
Overall Impression: I don’t what they were shooting for here, but it didn’t really work for me. This beer is not terrible, but, for me, it just felt like a miss all the way around.

A golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, pleasant caramel malt with light British hops, clover, nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with nice grassy British hops, smooth. On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill, April 7, 2012.

Pint to pint, cloudy ginger orange sporting airy foam reducing quickly to near transparent lid. Immediate yeasty citris rind come to the fore, some toffee rounding tangy edge. Through to finish retaining substantial sourdough bitterness. Expected tad more malt but still flavorful.
