Initial reaction was; what happened to the bottle? No bubbles on top of the liquid, it even appeared to be missing some fluid. Dark, almost no carbonation present. The pour-was this a cask beer? The taste-a cask RIS and a magnificent one based on that with understated natural carbonation and tasty coffee-chocolate bittersweetness. A delight of a beer

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours black with a large somewhat-lasting creamy light-brown head. Mild aroma of roasted malt, coffee, lots of green hops and some lactic notes. Flavour of coffee, chocolate, hops and roasted malt -- very tasty. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Well done, a very good Stout.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with glouglouburp. Opaque near-black pour with an average light brown mottled creamy head - this actually *looks* thick. Dry, slightly tart yeast aroma (that McNeills aroma again), with deep roast character of molasses and tart fruit. Very dry and deeply roasted coffee/nutty taste, finishes almost burnt. Average of body, incredibly dry and bitter in the linger - a lovely, lovely dry stout.

Very smooth. Silky mouth feel and a very nice finish. One of the better oatmeal stouts around. Sweet and crisp up front and sweet and crisp on the back. Nice all around beer.

Dark brown, small creamy looking head .Aroma - malt roasted almost to perfection, strong and soft at once. Flavour was lighter and body was a bit to thin. If it was not so light /thin this would be great beer.
