Nice beer, great hop aroma and bite. Had a strange musty smell, must be the ringworm yeast, but I’m not sure. Dark brew, alcohol is very present on the palate.

Pours a thick dark red body with a nice head. Huge ringworm yeasty aroma. Caramel, nuts, earth also comes through in the flavor and aroma. Enjoyable, but the yeast strain overpowered everything else there. Can’t believe it’s 9%... not only don’t I really feel anything... but it was extremely smooth. Solid.

Turbid brown, thin soapy white head. Soft brown sugar and caramel nose with lighter tones of chocolate, toast, and citrus. Flavor was just about the same, but again on the soft side. Nothing ever intense throughout the bottle. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin mouthfeel, light carbonation, light citrus and caramel finish. Really pretty disappointed with this brewery overall. 6 different bottles, and only the Ruby Ale was decent. Betting their stuff is much better on tap though...

Cheers to Firemoose for this bottle. Malt aroma, but not sweet more bready than sweet. Dark reddish/brown color. Thin head. Almost has porterish flavors. Mildly roasted with a big malt backbone. A touch sweet in the middle finishing with a yeasty and almost flowery finish. Very interesting beer.

Malted strong ale. This is extremely mild for a 9% ale and highly rewarding. It comes out looking a bit flat from the tap and doesn’t exude any knock you down qualities on the nose or tongue, but damn, it’s drinkable and wish I had more to really dig into.

Cloudy dark amber w/ lots of yeast in suspension. Pale tan foam. Interesting aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, toffee, marmalade, nuts, citrusy hops. Oily, medium feel. Flavour is sweet, malty & fruity w/ a distinctive yeastiness & just a hint earthy wood. Some diacetyl was evident as well.

Out of a bomber, almost a burgandy color to it thin white head. Aroma of dark roast and vanilla hints. Taste was hoppy and strong and a little grassy, some spice and toffee I thought. Mouthfeel was watery and it finished well despite the bite. Overall good and even better when sharing.

thanks to firemoose15 for sharing the bomber, poured a plum color with very little white head and a weak coffee smell with hints of vanilla. flavor was strong and hoppy, grass with bits of citrus interlaced with hints of coffee, sweet caramel malts, and spices, maybe a bit of brown sugar as well. body was very thin and watery, with a slightly warming sensation from the abv. tail end is hoppy and bitter, i thought giving this brew a similarity to some barley wines. thanks mel

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2005 Couleur brune aux reflets rougeâtres. 5-2-4-3-10
