3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 nhorween (644) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2006
Bottle. Pours a murky (unfiltered) light brown with a thin, short lived, white head. Aroma is light... hoppy and grassy, and a little too musty for me. This one fell a bit flat in my mouth. Thin and a bit watery, it lacked the up front punch I really like in IPA’s. Flavor is defintely there, nice floral notes, with a decent bitter aftertaste. Not bad, but not McNeill’s best offering (I had a DFH 60 min IPA right before this, and this didin’t come close).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCW (1270) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 10, 2005
Pretty average IPA. Bronze to orange in color, slightly hazy, and pours with a frothy white head. Aroma of C hops, grapefuit, citrus. Moderately bitter, not coming up with much on the malts. I can’t say anything bad about it expect that its average. Thanks CaptainCougar
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ABUSEDGOAT (1937) - California, USA - OCT 4, 2005
This isn’t a pale ale? Dark, deep orange pour with a small head. Aroma is very fruity. Grapefruit and pears come out big time. Hints of caramel. Flavor is the same. It’s bitter, but I still feel like this is a pale ale. It was slightly watery, but only slightly. I still wouldn’t call this an IPA.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 25, 2005
Somewhat dark copper, thin frothy head.
Hopped wet dog aroma.
Rye-like hops in taste. A bit spicy and dark. Tree bark. But, hops brighten it up a bit.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DavidP (1745) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 20, 2005
Bomber shared by Blake. Chunky amber body under a thin white head. Leather, pine needles, pollen, and subdued lemon ride in the well-blended aroma. The flavor is also well-blended with spicy, aged piney hops coming in over earthy, chocolate-covered cracker. Dry finish. This IPA tates aged as the oils have degraded and descended into the malt created a low-profile but complex beer.

Hand bottled sample per Eyedrinkale. This beer has an aroma of goldenrod, nettles, pine. Very garden variety in hops. Almost an oatmeal hiding underneath. The beer has tons of medium sized chunks in it. It is a hazy amber color with a nice oily white head. The flavor is lightly an IPA. Pine, grapefruit, sweet caramel malt. Lower in IBU than most IPAs. Very distinct flavor. You could pick it out of a lineup. Oatmeal mouthfeel. Not too shabby. Would like to try it fresher.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MIBRomeo (2105) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 20, 2005
an amber orangish colo rw/ a sticky large fluffy white head pretty well laced. Smells dank like a wet basement floor w/ some old meat on it, some weak malt and citrus. Palate is flat plain thin. Flavor is not good.. lightly bitter very boring tiny malt and some just off flavor. Thanks to blake for sharing.
