Sregnar35 (647), Rotterdam, New York, USA Apr 2, 2008 Terrible. Poured a nice reddish brown with a good sized head. Aroma is faint but musty and sour. Beer was bad, tasted like vinegar, poor job.
(Rating #1839) dmac (799), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Jun 22, 2008 22oz bomber from a trade. Seriously this is now my third or fourth infected McNeills beer. Do they intentionally infect their beers?? Well I did watch American Beer and after seeing the "great" brewing and botteling facility they have there it’s no wonder they can’t ship an uninfected beer. I have one more McNeill’s to try but I’m pretty sure of the outcome already. Avoid this brewery unless you lke throwing your money away. nramsburg (134), USA Jun 5, 2008 Pours light brown with a nice sized creamy head. Really not too much on the nose except for some caramel. Nice mouthfeel -- fairly thick and rich. Other than this not too much is going on in the glass. Sammy (2969), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 24, 2008 picked up at the Co-Op in Burlington. This is a malt and caramel play, taste and aroma, and very drinkable for what it is. Caramel yellow colour with some head. Above average mouthfeel. Lunchtime sessionable. Bungalo22 (222), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA May 24, 2008 Poured from the bottle a nice brown color but little to no head. The aroma was carmel and malt. It was smooth but a bit watery. It was a nice drink but not in the top for Scottish Ales.
