COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Warlord is a monster of a beer. It’s the most heavily dry-hopped beer we’ve ever made. The caramel and slight notes of apricot come from the generous user of domestic and British malts and although it has a bitterness of 85 IBU’s it is still well balanced. Do not operate farm machinery.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle was hazy red with off white/yellow head, aroma brought notes of deep caramel and toffee, some nice grapefruit, lemon, hints of biscuit and slight yeast characters, touch of spice. Taste is nice grapefruit and orange, some slight mineral notes, hints of dry spice and earthy notes, some slight grass but mainly citrusy and fruity, finishing fairly bitter, slight alcohol burn. Decent!

Cloudy coppery orange in color with a huge foamy tannish head. Sweet and fruity with malt, citrus, peach and a good bit of hops in the end.

Pours a light peach-copper color with little to no head. Aroma of somewhat muted floral hops. Flavor is some citrus and some bitter hops, but a bit overbalanced by a sweetish malt backbone and a rather bitter finish to the beer.

On tap at Winter Warmer: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a nice foamy head. Aroma consists of citrus hops with nice resin and piney notes also detectable. Taste is also a complex mix between some notes of citrus hops with some resin notes which is well balanced by a semi-sweet caramel malt backbone. Floral notes are very nice. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I really enjoyed this one.

The aroma is fruit, pine, citrus, bread. The appearance is a hazy orange, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, fruity, bready, caramel. The finish is fruity, minty, pine. Medium to medium/thick in body. Very nice.

Winter warmer 2012.

On tap at Winter Warmer Montreal 2012. Red with a fine white head. Complex and classy nose of grapefruit and fancy caramel. Bold mouthfeel, sensuous, clean citrussy bitterness backed by a solid malt base with toffee notes. Realy nice.

Tap at Happy Gnome. Nice mostly clear orange pour with a big fluffy white head. Big citrus hop nose. Taste is rich citrus hops and very well balanced.

Looks are deceiving in more ways than one. 22 ounce bottle into a 24 oz Sam Adams glass. This is a pretty looking ale, golden orange with a thick cream white head and fairly effervescent. From there the nose is doughy and syrupy, with some grassy, berry, peach and apricot. Also a rubbery tone faint but present. The flavor is very syrup laden, marmalade, rubbery note in nose runs across the mid palate. Some earthy herbal hop character begins to shine. Fruit in the finish is melon like with a decent bitterness, sweet sticky finish not unlike American imperial stouts. There is a puzzling lingering after taste, that is both sweet and slightly phenolic. This is not my idea of a good imperial ipa, very little nuance and very thick with hop aroma and flavor under played.
